Author Description
Mark Charles Powers blogs and writes about uplifting and inspiring glimpses of grace in everyday life. He also is a musician, inspirational speaker, and teacher.
Mark served five large churches in South Carolina as worship pastor. He enjoyed ten years as the Worship & Music Director for the South Carolina Baptist Convention. His work there yielded teaching and speaking opportunities in seminaries and colleges, churches and community settings, and major conferences across the country. His non-fiction book “Going Full Circle: Worship That Moves Us to Discipleship and Mission” (Wipf & Stock) released in 2013.
His weekly blog “Glimpses of Grace” can be found on his website at
www.MarkCharlesPowers.com
and reaches over 500 subscribers in the third year of publication. “His Eyes” is his first novel, addressing the age-old question "why does God allow tragedy and where is he in it" without being preachy or cliched. The story is both poignant and fun.
Mark lives high atop a mountain in Western North Carolina with his wife, Kay Ward Powers. Continuing Mark’s long history of serving with community choruses, arts councils, and community theater, he is the current director of the regional Mountain Song Community Chorus based in Saluda NC.
